Liverpool striker, Daniel Sturridge, faces another six weeks out of action after suffering a further setback in his road to recover.

The England international first suffered a groin injury during international duty back in September, and was sidelined for a month, but just a week before his return, he picked up a thigh injury, resulting in him missing a further month.

And incredibly, yet again, with just a week left on his recovery, Sturridge pulled out of training on Tuesday with yet another groing injury which has now been confirmed by the club.

Reports emerged earlier this week about the injury blow and it’s now apparant that the striker won’t be in action again until the New Year.

The news comes as a real blow to Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers who are desperately shy on the goal-front with Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini all struggling for Premier League goals.

Liverpool have now lost both star-goalscorers from last season in Luis Suarez and Sturridge.
