Manchester United manager David Moyes believes his side are one of the favourites to win the Champions League this season, despite them sitting ninth in the Premier League.
The Red Devils have played their best football in Europe this season, with convincing wins over Bayer Leverkusen, and a solid 1-0 victory against a tough Shakhtar Donetsk last night, and now Moyes believes they could go all the way and win the competition.
“I think we could be classed as one of the favourites,” said Moyes.
“We’ll have to improve in order to progress. A club like Manchester United has to be trying to win the trophy.”
“You have to get better as the tournament goes on.
“It’s a tough competition, a hard one, but we will take it one game at a time.”
A Phil Jones goal was enough last night to give United all three-points and gave them their first goal in two matches at Old Trafford after shock league defeats to Everton and Newcastle.
