Italian giants AC Milan are reportedly interested in Newcastle United defender Davide Santon as they eye a replacement for Ignazio Abate, which reports suggesting he could be on his way to Premier League side Arsenal.
It has been speculated that The Gunners could be searching for a replacement for French right-back Bacary Sagna, who’s contract situation still hasn’t been resolved, and Arsene Wenger’s attentions are now focused on Abate from Milan.
In what could turn out to be a wing-back merry-go-round, if Milan do lose Abate to Arsenal due to them losing out on Sagna, it is thought that they will then try and sign Santon from Newcastle.
However, the hitch in the deal could be the fact that mega-rich French side Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on Abate and the defender’s agent is also Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s agent, so a move to France could be made more appealing for the 27-year-old.
