Ivorian advises Guus Hiddink to re-sign striker

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has urged interim-manager Guus Hiddink to re-sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton.

The Belgian international left Stamford Bridge on a permanent deal over the summer after spending the past two seasons out on-loan with West Brom and Everton respectively.

After impressing temporarily at Goodison Park, Roberto Martinez then decided to splash ÂŁ28million on the striker, which was accepted by Jose Mourinho, who claimed the Belgian wasn’t ready for first-team football at Stamford Bridge.

The 22-year-old has gone from strength to strength in Merseyside and is quickly becoming one of the best strikers in the Premier League.

Drogba was back at Chelsea for the Sunderland game, as he watched on from the stands alongside owner Roman Abramovich and new manager Hiddink.

Lukaku Return?

According to reports, the former-striker has advised Hiddink to bring back Lukaku in order to replace under-fire striker Diego Costa.

The Spaniard netted a brace against Watford yesterday, but has only got six for the season, and is also one of the players being accused for the sacking of Mourinho.

Drogba and Lukaku are close friends off the pitch, and the Everton star has admitted that the ex-Chelsea man is his footballing icon.

The Montreal Impact star is a massive fan of Lukaku, who netted his 16th goal of the season last weekend, and he has already urged Hiddink to make his move.

It has also recently emerged that Mourinho was heavily questioned about his decision to sell Lukaku to Everton, meaning that the club’s board clearly saw him in their future plans.
