Reports in Spain suggest that Tottenham have moved ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign Benfica midfielder, Eduardo Salvio, according to the Daily Express.
The 24-year-old Argentine has impressed for the Portuguese outfit this season, having netted five goals for table-topping Benfica.
And following his fine form to date, Premier League eyes have been looking at him, with both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur keen to land Salvio in a summer move.
Salvio, who previously played for Atletico Madrid in his career, before a move to Lisbon, would prefer a move to White Hart Lane, over that of a move to Liverpool, with compatriot Mauricio Pochettino currently in the hot-seat at Spurs.
The midfielder has a high relese clause in his current deal at the Estadio De Luz, so a loan move to Spurs, or Liverpool could be a more viable option in the summer.
