Erik ten Hag has backed himself to turn around fortunes at Man United.
Man United had their worst start to a season in the last 50 years after Erik ten Hag led the club to their first trophy in six years last year.
The Red Devils have won the Carabao Cup, reached the FA Cup final and finished third in the Premier League.
United’s 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United was the squad’s 10th defeat in 21 matches in all competitions.
There have been published stories of dressing room unrest against the manager that led to the banning of several media outlets.
This is the first time that the club has barred members of the press from speaking to the manager since the Fergie days.
“There will always be tough times in every journey. We are in the right direction. I know we will get there where we want to be. Because – see my record,” Ten Hag told a press conference.
“Everywhere where I was, every season, I got my targets. If we stick together, stick to the plan and the strategy, we will get where we want to be.
“We are together in that boat. We know that. So we will deal with it in togetherness.”
