Raphael Varane wants to continue at Manchester United

Raphael Varane was expected to leave Old Trafford this January.

The French defender is currently in his third season in a Man United shirt after making his move from Real Madrid in the summer of 2021.

He has fallen out of favour at the club and started only one game for the Red Devils this season.

Erik ten Hag is currently satisfied with the current partnership of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof at the back.

He is way behind in the pecking order and has been overlooked by the Dutch manager.

There have been reports of a feud between the player and manager but Erik ten Hag dismissed any such rumours and stated nothing but a ‘tactical decision.’

Varane has attracted the attention of a few Saudi Arabian clubs and speculation regarding a potential exit for the 30-year-old was seemingly on the cards.

However, according to reports by Manchester Evening News, Varane is keen to remain at Old Trafford beyond the January transfer window.

The former Real Madrid defender has no desire to leave Man United unless the manager indicates he is unwanted at the club.

Harry Maguire has regained his spot in the first-team leaving Raphael Varane out of contention in the last few games.
