West Ham United defender Sam Byram is reportedly attracting interest from Arsenal.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is targeting a full-back if he loses Hector Bellerin to Barcelona.

The Catalan giants are themselves seeking a replacement for Dani Alves, who has just signed for Juventus.

Byram, 22, only signed from the Hammers from Championship side Leeds United in January, and he has only made a handful of appearances, but his performances have earned rave reviews.

Tuttomercatoweb believe he may be tempted by the lure of Champions League football, and Arsenal may make their move if Barcelona go for their former right-back Bellerin, who left the Nou Camp in 2011.

West Ham would be eager to gain a sizeable recoup of the £3.7m they paid for Byram, with Manchester City also interested.

Despite mainly playing as a right-back, Byram is also capable of playing on the right-wing. His style of play has drawn commparisons to Real Madrid and Wales superstar Gareth Bale, due to his ability to create play from deeper areas.
