The giants watched him score a hat-trick in the Champions League.
Manchester United and Barcelona have both been linked with a 19-year-old wonderkid Haaland.
Red Bull Salzburg forward Erling Braut Haaland wrote his name into his club’s history books after becoming their youngest player ever to score a hat-trick in Europe’s elite competition. Overall, he is now the third-youngest player to net a treble in the Champions League, thanks to his first-half exploits in Salzburg’s 6-2 win over Genk on Tuesday.
Haaland made history at the recent U-20 World Cup when he scored nine goals for Norway in a 12-0 victory over Honduras. He has already scored 17 goals, including four hat-tricks, in nine appearances for Salzburg in 2019/20, and his fine form has attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have been scouting the 19-year-old since his nine-goal haul at the youths World Cup, while Manchester United are also linked with his services. It’s been suggested Barca management see the youngster as a potential replacement for Luis Suarez.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a keen admirer having worked with the youngster during their time together at Molde. The Red Devils are believed to be favorites to sign him with his dad already giving his blessing for the switch.
