Jose Mourinho is set to wield the axe at Manchester United this summer, with as many as nine players potentially shown the exit door.
The Daily Mail claims that Mourinho has informed the players personally that they will either be put up for sale or listed for loan.
United will almost certainly have to trim their wage bill, with the likely incoming Paul Pogba joining the likes of Wayne Rooney and new signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic on wages per week exceeding £200,000.
Rooney is not expected to be on the list of players leaving, but one man who appears on his way out is midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The German has struggled with injury since arriving from Bayern Munich last summer, and has two years left on his current deal.
Mourinho has also reportedly informed some of the club’s younger contingent that their services may no longer be required.
Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Andreas Pereira and James Wilson are also expected to go, although Mourinho informed Pereira he still has a role to play at the Red Devils.
Adnan Januzaj, Will Keane, Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair could all also be on their way.
