Christian Eriksen has attracted interest from some elite clubs in the summer.

The Danish has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford who spent the second half of last season with Brentford.

He returned to professional football back in February after he recovered from the cardiac arrest he suffered in Euros.

According to reports, both Spurs and Eriksen’s camp are negotiating for his return to the North London club.

Alasdair Gold said: “I’ve been doing a bit of digging on both sides of that deal today. And it seems like Spurs have gone cold on it, for whatever reason that is.

“At this current time, they haven’t followed up on initial interest shown. And certainly, those from a Spurs side are really distancing themselves with regard to any discussions going on.

“And from the other side of things, people I’ve spoken to on that side, they’re saying that Spurs were in contact about two weeks ago over Eriksen, with his camp about a potential return, but just haven’t followed it up since.

“It’s a really strange one, because I get the impression from the Eriksen side of things, from people within his camp, there’s a little bit of surprise at the stance that Spurs have taken as well.”
