The Chilean international is expected to return to Italy.
Bologna have reportedly opened talks to sign Besiktas and Chile midfielder Gary Medel, who had also been linked with Fiorentina.
According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Serie A side Bologna are thinking about bringing Medel back to Serie A.
The 32-year-old played for Inter between 2014 and 2017, making 109 appearances in black and blue before joining Besiktas. He is also vastly experienced, with 125 caps for Chile, while his versatility lets him play at right-back and in central defence, as well as his usual role of defensive midfielder.
The former Sevilla and Cardiff City man has only one year left on his contract with the Turkish club. New Bologna director Walter Sabatini is reportedly thinking of bringing the player back in Italy, so as to reinforce the midfield options of boss Sasa Mihajlovic.
Medel had also been linked with a possible move to Fiorentina earlier in the summer.
Bologna take on Hellas Verona in their opening 2019-2020 Serie A game on Sunday, 25 August.
