Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has confirmed that Juventus are on the brink of signing a new contract extension deal for Paulo Dybala.
The Argentine forward has been a potential asset for the club for the last few years. However, a lack of playing time of late with a contract that is set to expire soon has set the cats amongst the pigeons.
There have been multiple rumors of Dybala leaving for other clubs over the past 12 months, but Juve president Agnelli has confirmed otherwise.
He said, “The good news is that he’s scoring again, he had a difficult period after [having] the coronavirus and had a slow restart. […] Yesterday, today and tomorrow we see Paulo as a captain of this team. He’s even has the armband at times.”
“He has received an offer which puts him among the 20 best-paid players in Europe, which is a great starting point, so his love for the club has been returned in favour, both in sentimental terms and in our recognition. He knows he has the offer, so we’ll calmly wait for a response.”
“We’re also expecting one on the pitch – his ambition is to be among the five best in the world, and we want to support him in doing that. Right now he isn’t, and that he knows.”
