Real’s top goalscorer will end his career at the Bernabeu
Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has rubbished speculation linking the 30-year-old with a return to Manchester United next season.
Super agent Mendes has attempted to put an end to speculation linking the Portugal international with a return to Old Trafford, insisting the winger will finish his career in the Spanish capital.
Mendes, 49, told French television show Canal Football Club: “It is impossible. He will end his career at Real Madrid.”
Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with the former United man, however, Ronaldo himself didn’t deny the suggestion of a return to Manchester United on the red carpet during his movie premiere of the film ‘Ronaldo’.
Rafa fallout
It is understood that Ronaldo’s relationship with boss Rafael Benitez has frayed since the former Liverpool boss’s arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu in June.
The Portugal international is the current Ballon d’Or holder and broke Real’s all time top goalscorer record this year, as his side missed out on La Liga and Champions League to bitter rivals Barcelona.
Ronaldo was also jeered after Real were thrashed 4-0 at home to Barcelona in El Clasico, adding to speculation that he is ready to quit Spanish football.
United boss Louis Van Gaal has already hinted that the Red Devils are lining up a move for their former star, saying: “We are looking at all players, not just Ronaldo. But these players are mostly ungettable. With Ronaldo, let’s wait and hope,”
