Raphael Varane is confident of overturning the game at the Etihad.
Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, is already aware of the historic strength of Real Madrid in this competition.
City is currently leading 2-1 from the first-leg last-16 clash which took place at Santiago Bernabeu in March.
“We have a lot of experience in these big games, so we can rest easy,” Varane told UEFA’s official website.
“We’re just as decisive as before, winning is always our aim and it’s in this club’s DNA.
“We always come into this games with a hunger to win and with determination. We’ll prepare for it and do everything we can, just like we always do in this competition.”
“We have the experience of major events. So we approach with perhaps a little more serenity, but always the same determination. And above all, we know the pitfalls to avoid. This is a bit of the experience we have over the past few years.”
Zinedine Zidane’s effect at the Santiago Bernabeu isn’t something that can be ignored, and that is something that is perceived inside the changing area as well.
“Zidane transmits confidence and calmness,” the defender added.
“It’s important because it means he supports me and gives me advice.
“He pushed me to take risks and to play higher to help the team play a more offensive style.”
