AC Milan have had a struggling start in the season.
One of the reason for that is poor options at right back.
Theo Hernandez has provided stability on the left flank, but the right is still a sore spot for AC Milan’s defence. From Davide Calabria’s complicated start to the season, receiving two red cards already, to Andrea Conti’s difficulties.
As a result of this, the Rossoneri leadership are evaluating the possibility of bringing in a right-back during the January transfer window, and the names are not lacking. However, there are two names on the wish list that the management are keeping an extra eye on. That is why AC Milan have placed their radar on Turkey international and Lille defender Zeki Celik, who is playing an important role at just 22 years of age.
Celik was already on Atletico Madrid’s radar to improve their diminished defence due to the injuries of GodĂn, Filipe, Juanfran and Lucas, but in the end, it was just interest. The Turkish international is 22 and is now in his second season in one of Europe’s top 5 leagues. He has played 9 games and got 2 assists, and has played them all with Lille.
According Tuttosport, the Rossoneri are one of the clubs that are interested in the player and could make a move for him in January, as they think that he could be an important player for the club. His asking price is around €20 million, a low amount for what is being paid in the market and a fee that AC Milan could afford.
