The Premier Club were linked with former Ajax player in the previous summer transfer window but Netherlands international was not available.
24-year-old has started twice for the Red Devils this season in the Champions League and Carabao Cup. The Dutchman has only played six minutes of Premier League 2021-22. He played the full 90 minutes against West Ham United in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
