There have been many reports in recent weeks of Gareth Bale’s return to Premier League football.
Chelsea and Manchester United were both said to be planning £100million bids to bring the Welshman back to England.
Both Louis van Gaal, and Jose Mourinho are both keen admirers of the enigmatic 25-year-old, but Bale has dashed their hopes of any transfer soon.
After helping Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid win last season’s Champions League, Bale looks set to be rewarded with an improved contract at the Bernabeu.
The Welsh international has stated that he has no desire to leave Real Madrid and will extend his contract until 2021. It is widely assumed that his current £15million-a-year salary will also be improved.
Chelsea and United will be disappointed, but there is a long way to go yet in this transfer window.
