Glen Johnson has reacted angrily to criticism of his defending after Liverpool’s 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace. The Reds were three goals in front but they let that lead slip and came away with only a draw.
That result all but ends the club’s title hopes and it left Luis Suarez in tears at the final whistle. Glen Johnson on the other hand, was in a much angrier mood. In tweets last night he hit out at fans who criticised his performance by saying:
“Absolutely clueless…” and then “So many sofa experts in this game…Absolutely no idea about football whatsoever! #Jokers”
The right-back began to receive a stream of messages online straight after his side conceded the three goals in eleven minutes. He was also critiscised by Anfield legend Robbie Fowler on Match Of The Day, who claimed:
“He looked shattered after being fantastic going forward all game but he has to better defensively.”
With that draw it appears Liverpool’s Premier League glory hopes may be over. Despite the club being on top of the table City, who are sat in second, have a game in hand.
