Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin says he was confident about the outcome of the last game. Arsenal came from behind to defeat West Ham United 3-1 as they registered their first point of the season.
Marko Arnautovic gave the West London side a break but a goal apiece from Nacho Monreal and Danny Welbeck and an own goal from Issa Diop was enough for the Gunners to restore their run in the Premier League.
It was also Unai Emery’s first competitive win since taking charge at the Emirates Stadium this season. Following the loss in the first two matches, the Gunners drew heavy criticism but the victory against the Hammers brought a pale of fresh air in North London.
Bellerin said, “I wouldn’t describe it as relief. We’ve been working hard now for the last two months, so we knew it was just a question of time.
“We had two tough games to start after lots of changes at the club. We knew it was a question of time, a question of scoring the chances that we had.”
The player further admitted he is delighted with the performance of the team.
“We still could have been even more efficient.
“But even though we started behind in the scores, we turned it around and I was very happy with the reaction of the team as well.”
