Ian Wright wishes Arsenal signed Chelsea’s Cole Palmer

Arsenal legend Ian Wright expressed his admiration for Chelsea winger Cole Palmer, stating his desire to see the young talent don the red of his former club.

Palmer, who made a bold move from Manchester City to Chelsea last summer, has made waves despite his team’s struggles.

Wright, speaking on his podcast, “Wrighty’s House Podcast,” lauded Palmer’s sensational performances, acknowledging his impressive tally of 10 goals and six assists in the Premier League this season.

“I wish we (Arsenal), I don’t want to say who I’d have had him in for, but I’d have loved to have had Cole Palmer.” He said

“I heard someone saying something that he’s like Mahrez, but he’s not that player, he has so much more,”

While Arsenal has a strong right winger in Bukayo Saka, Wright mentioned Palmer’s versatility and the healthy competition he would bring to the squad. The 21-year-old’s hefty £40 million price tag reflects the immense potential he carries, making him a coveted asset in the football world.

Although Palmer’s decision led him to Stamford Bridge instead of the Emirates, Wright’s admiration for the young Englishman underscores the impact he could have had in Arsenal’s colors.

Despite the current depth in Arsenal’s squad, Wright believes Palmer’s addition would have elevated the team, adding a layer of competition and versatility crucial for success in top-flight football.
