Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti has hit out at Ivan Perisic insisting the player should find a club who would be able to cough up his wages.

Perisic is reportedly a target for Arsenal and the Gunners have had already a bid rejected for the Croatian winger. Unai Emery wants to take the player for the rest of the season while Inter are determined to let the player leave permanently.

The Gunners are currently in a fund crisis and can only afford loan deals in January. Emery has been on the lookout for a winger and a defender and he could launch a renewed attempt very soon.

Perisic hasn’t been at his sumptuous best and has managed just three goals in all competitions this season. The 29 year old saw his team losing 1-0 to Torino and likely to be on the bench when the Nerazzurri host Lazio in the Coppa Italia quarterfinal on Friday.

The winger was also heavily linked with Manchester United in the summer but Inter were under no pressure as the player has a contract till 2022.

Spalletti said, “Ivan Perisic? Players are employees of the club, if they want to leave, they have to find someone who is willing to pay their wages.

“You can’t just leave for free, that’s not how it works.

“Marotta is right, if Perisic doesn’t want to stay here then he will be left out from my squad.”
