Tottenham and Liverpool are both thought ot be chasing young West Brom striker Saido Berahino for a January move.

The club have reportedly halted talks over a new deal as the forward was arrested for drink driving offences earlier this month.

Albion chairman Jeremy Peace has already confirmed that the England U21 international, who’s current deal with the club expires in 2017, will not leave the Hawthorns next month.

Yet the 21 year-old’s form has been called into question as of late, with boss Alan Irvine leaving him out of the starting XI in recent matches.

Irvine is ready for any potential bids that will come in when the transfer widnow opens but also admitted the club have not received any inquiries from clubs.

He said: “At the moment it is certainly only speculation. We have had no enquiries whatsoever.

“Where the stories have come from I’m not quite sure. January will reveal what is going to happen.

“We may well get some offers for Saido and if we do the club will deal with them.

“The chairman has already said he doesn’t want to sell Saido in January so I’m guessing nothing has changed as far as that is concerned.”
