Chelsea send team of scouts to find replacement
Jose Mourinho has sent scouts to find a replacement for right back Branislav Ivanovic
Ivanovic has been part of a Chelsea defence that has been leaking a lot of goals early on in the season and the Blues need to stop that if they are to catch up with league leaders Manchester City.
Ivanovic was replaced by Cesar Azpilicueta during Wednesday night’s 4-0 victory over Maccabi Tel-Aviv, with new signing Baba Rahman playing at left-back instead of the Spaniard.
Contract Saga
The defender’s contract situation is still unclear with the Chelsea uncertain over whether to hand him a 12-month extension to his current deal.
Ivanovic has struggled against pacey teams and had a nightmare against the likes of Swansea City, Manchester City, Everton and Crystal Palace.
