The midfielder is yet to sign a new deal with the Gunners

Arsenal midfielder’s Jack Wilshere has been linked with a summer exit as he is yet to commit to a new contract at the Emirates Stadium. His contract will expire at the end of the season as he continues to head towards free agency.

Wilshere, who has been at the club since 9, has made it clear that his preferred option is to stay at his boyhood club. The Gunners have offered him £90,000-a-week, which is a pay-cut on his current deal worth £110,000-a-week but yet to agree terms on a new deal.

Despite having been in talks regarding fresh talks for some time, the 26-year-old continues to be linked with host of clubs who are willing to sign him on a free transfer.

Former Crystal Palace star Clinton Morrison has urged the midfielder to join the Eagles and believes it is the right club for him. He is also hoping his former club shows interest in the England International.

Quizzed by Express Sport on whether he would be looking to do a deal for Palace: “100 per cent. I’d take Jack Wilshere tomorrow.

“I think he’s terrific. If you could get him injury-free, what a signing that would be for Crystal Palace.

“Obviously he’s a London boy so hopefully he wants to stay in London and play and I think Palace would be the right club.

“And hopefully if Steve Parish can make it happen, it would be magnificent if Roy Hodgson wanted him.

“But I don’t know why you wouldn’t want Jack Wilshere. When he’s injury-free, I think he’s still got a lot to offer and I think he’s a very good midfielder.”
