John Terry talks about Frank Lampard’s move

Chelsea captain John Terry has admitted that it doesn’t feel right seeing former team-mate Frank Lampard in a Manchester City shirt, and has felt lost without him during pre-season training.

Lampard has moved on to fresh challenges since his last contract expired, and began training with Manchester City last week, beginning his 6 month loan spell with them before heading to America to play for New York City.

But Terry has taken that move – and Ashley Cole’s move to Roma – tough to take after playing alongside them both for nearly a decade.

“I felt lost for the first few days (of pre-season,” Terry admitted, “At Cobham Lamps is next door to me and Cole is a couple it a couple.”

“We’ve grown up together, we’ve won and lost here and done so many great things together. It’s sad to see them go.”

“To see Ash already sign for Roma and Lamps heading for New York… It doesn’t seem right seeing them in different shirts. Maybe over time it will ease.” He told Chelsea TV.

He’s been an idol and someone I aspire to be in training, around the place, off the field. He was a great character but footballing wise I’ve never met someone who works as hard as he does on the field to improve his game.

‘To do what he has done at the club… for me there’s no one better. Lamps has been an absolute legend at this football club and his legacy will remain forever.

‘This club is evolving. One day we’ll all be gone.’
