Wolves have been involved in several trade rumours this January, the latest being Lazio’s 24-year-old defender, Wallace.

Reports claim that the Portuguese super-agent, Jorge Mendes is trying to get the Premier League side interested in Wallace. The former have processed the deals of Ruben Neves, Rui Patricio and Joao Moutinho to the Molineux Stadium and previously have already attempted to move the Serie A centre-back there.

Lazio are reportedly very close to signing Chelsea’s Davide Zappacosta on loan this month which will also include a buy-back clause worth £13.5m. Simone Inzaghi currently has 6 centre-halfs at his disposal and is ready to ship one out in order to smoothen Zappacosta’s arrival.

The Wanderers have done remarkably well in their first season back in the English top-flight, securing a top ten spot in the first half of the 2018/19 campaign. However, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side has been struggling defensively of late, managing just one clean sheet in their last 14 league fixtures.

Wallace has featured in 15 games for the White and Sky Blues this term and is reported to be worth only €6m-€7m even with a contract set to run for another 3 seasons.

With a backline that usually accommodates three centre-halfs, it might be worth considering Mendes’ offer, especially when there are only two backups in Leander Dendoncker and Ethan Ebanks-Landell.
