Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny believes club-legend Thierry Henry could become the new long-term manager at the Emirates Stadium once Arsene Wenger calls it a day.

Henry, who recently retired from the game, is heavily tipped to replace Wenger once he ends his long-term association with the North London club and Koscielny believes his ‘god-like’ stature could benefit him as manager.

The former-striker is currently working as a pundit for Sky Sports, but it’s believed he is doing his coaching badges in his spare time and is also working closely with youths at Arsenal.

Speaking about the managerial role, Koscielny believes Henry’s stature would bring him great success at Arsenal, but he admits that first the legend needs to learn the ropes.

“At Arsenal, he is God,” Koscielny said of Henry. “With Arsene Wenger, he made the club grow.

“He deserves that statue (at the Emirates Stadium).

“It is possible (for him to succeed Wenger) but at the moment Titi needs to learn still. He will surely do that with the youngsters.”
