Leandro Trossard was denied a goal against Brentford.

The Gunners opened the scoring against Thomas Frank’s men just before half-time but the goal was ruled offside shortly after a VAR check.

The decision sparked a debate among fans and pundits where the Arsenal supporters were quick to post their disapproval of the decision on social media.

It was the kind of goal that we haven’t seen ruled out in the past, so blaming VAR for disallowing it was nonsensical.

Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard has given a balanced viewpoint on the VAR and claims that mistakes are a part of the game.

“That’s football,” Trossard said. “There are so many things that you can think about, but in the end, it’s a disallowed goal so you have to move on and that’s what we did.”

“Obviously with VAR we want the best possible outcome, but everyone can have mistakes or some things can happen,” Trossard continued. “If it doesn’t go your way then you have to take it on the chin in that moment.

“It’s for the guys who work with VAR to deal with it, so it’s not up to us to change anything.”
