Liverpool have reportedly agreed a two-year loan deal with Atletico Madrid for young right-back Javier Manquillo.
The Reds made their approach for the 20-year-old yesterday, and Brendan Rodgers was quick to persuade him to snub Arsenal in order to join him at Anfield, and after the right-back admitted he feared his game-time would be slim at the Emirates Stadium, he agreed in principle to complete a switch to Merseyside.
With Loic Remy currently undergoing his medical at the club, Manquillo could become Liverpool’s sixth signing this Summer as Rodgers continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.
According to reports in Spain, a two-year loan deal has been agreed with the possibility of making the move a permanent one for just £4.7million.
It’s believed Manquillo is currently planning on flying to America to join Liverpool’s squad and also have his medical there, similar to Remy.
