Club feared other fans would hijack the result

Liverpool Football Club have had to remove Mario Balotelli from their Player of the Year shortlist with fear that other fans would hijack the results.

A Twitter campaign went viral with the help from Arsenal and Manchester United fans that urged fans to vote Balotelli as the club’s Player of the Season, and with the Italian striker gaining a lot of votes, the club have acted by removing him from the list.

Bad Business from Brendan

Liverpool signed the controversial figure from AC Milan back in the Summer for ÂŁ16million, but since then he’s only managed to net one Premier League goal and has been considered a failed transfer.

With the news that United and Arsenal fans were planning on hijacking the award, Liverpool acted fast and removed his name from the nominee list.

Another insult to Balotelli’s career and also Liverpool’s season.
