Salah applauds Gakpo’s impact in dynamic Liverpool frontline
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has praised teammate Cody Gakpo, calling the talented striker a remarkable player. Salah, known for his deadly competence in front of goal, pointed out the seamless adaptation needed in their dynamic frontline.
Gakpo, a £35 million signing last year, has shown his football prowess in a number of roles, including central midfielder, center-forward, and left winger.
Salah praised Gakpo’s ability as a center-forward in particular, praising his contribution on the field.
“When Cody plays in that centre-forward position, he’s a fantastic guy,” he said.
“If you understand their game, your game is going to be easier.
“So I’m trying always to understand the other players’ games, so I know where I could be in that position with this player and with other players it’s different.
“Kostas and Robbo [are] completely different, Darwin and Cody are also different. So I have to adapt with the players who are going to play and who’s where.”
The 24-year-old Dutchman’s adaptability extends beyond club responsibilities, as he comfortably shifts to a No. 10 role for the Netherlands.
Liverpool’s smart signing of Gakpo, which beat off rivals such as Manchester United, has proven essential, providing manager Jurgen Klopp with an eclectic player.
Gakpo, known for his finishing ability and proficiency in deeper playmaking, is an important link between Salah, Luiz Diaz, and the forward line.
With Gakpo and Nunez at his side, Klopp has two powerful choices that cover all tactical areas, ensuring Liverpool remains an immense threat against any opponent.
As Salah praises his comrade, Gakpo’s willingness to adapt emerges as a significant weapon in Liverpool’s quest for success.
