Brendan Rodgers is hoping that Sevilla’s interest in Iago Aspas will aid him in securing the signature of defender Alberto Moreno. Sevilla have had a £5 million bid for Aspas rejected will have to consider whether they want to let their promising younger leave in order to get their man.
The Spanish side are looking for a forward as rumuors remain constant over Carlos Bacca leaving the Europa League winners this summer, even if the forwards stays the club could still use some depth up top.
Liverpool’s initial offer of £16 million for the up and coming star was rejected by Sevilla as they value the defender at £20 million, however Liverpool will hope to include a deal that involves a sum of around £12 million and the inclusion of forward Iago Aspas.
If Liverpool can not reach a deal with Sevilla for Moreno then Rodgers will look elsewhere with Ryan Bertrand being heavily linked with a £7 million move to Anfield. Chelsea are weary to sell the defender to their rivals after the impact Daniel Sturridge has had on Merseyside.
Liverpool are also looking at Swansea full back Ben Davies and may enter the race to sign the Welshman as Tottenham have been in talks with Swansea, although those talks have stalled. Whatever happens expect Iago Aspas to leave Anfield this summer.
