Bryan Robson urges club to beat Arsenal to signing
Former Manchester United midfielder Bryan Robson has urged the club to sign Petr Cech as soon as possible, before Arsenal steal him from under their noses.
With David De Gea on the verge of joining Real Madrid this summer, it is important that the Red Devils get a replacement sorted as soon as possible.
Old Trafford legend Robson, who made 345 league appearances for the club over 13 years, has told how he thinks that Cech would be a suitable replacement, and bring some experience between the sticks not seen since Edwin Van der Sar.
Robson Wants Cech
Robson, who these days is a global ambassador for United, said: “It’s important to bring in players as soon as possible.
“If De Gea has to be replaced, Cech would be ideal – he could do for the club what Edwin van der Sar did.”
Arsenal and Paris St Germain are also highly keen on Cech, who is seeking a move away from Stamford Bridge.
The Czech stopper has experience in abundance, with over 300 league appearances for Chelsea since joining in 2004. He is also a four-time Premier League winner.
