Manchester United players ‘shocked’ by Jose Mourinho’s training methods

Jose Mourinho’s detached approach to Manchester United’s training sessions has left his players shocked.

The Times claim that the Red Devils manager sometimes leaves his assistant Rui Faria to run training by himself while he watches in the distance or goes back to work in his office.

Mourinho apparently speaks to his players at the start of each practice but then will leave the drills and exercises to right-hand man Faria.

Some United players have been shocked by Mourinho’s tendency to keep his distance between himself and the players and a lot of the footballers would prefer a closer relationship with their boss following Louis van Gaal’s strict routine.

According to a close source to a United star, a number of members of the squad are unhappy with the 52-year-old’s attitude to training and believed the former Chelsea gaffer would be more up front and stuck-in during practice sessions.

The Red Devils face rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.
