Manchester United are keen on bringing Edinson Cavani to Old Trafford over the Summer in a deal worth around £60million.
Louis Van Gaal is set for another busy transfer window as he prepares to make more wholesale changes to the squad, and it’s believed that two strikers may be on their way out, with Cavani coming in as a replacement.
Radamel Falcao’s loan will expire and he will return to AS Monaco, whilst Robin Van Persie is reportedly up for sale after a struggling campaign due to injuries.
If United do sell Van Persie, they will move for Cavani, who is still unhappy in Paris due to playing out on the wing.
The Uruguayan was seen having a bust-up with Laurent Blanc on the sidelines during Paris Saint-Germain’s recent game against Marseille, sparking more speculation regarding his future.
Arsenal and Liverpool have both been admirers of Cavani in the past, but they wouldn’t be prepared to offer around £60m for the striker and wouldn’t match United’s proposed £300k-a-week contract.
