Morgan Schneiderlin nets on his debut

Manchester United won their first pre-season game in the early hours of this morning after picking up a 1-0 victory against Club America in the International Champions Cup.

The game saw plenty of debuts for The Red Devils, but it was former-Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin that stole the headlines as he scored his first goal for his new club.

Summary

After a cross was whipped in by Juan Mata, it found the Frenchman at the far post who looped it over the stranded goalkeeper to make it 1-0.

The first-half saw first starts for Matteo Darmian, Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay, whilst the second-half team included Bastian Schweinsteiger.

It took juts five minutes for Schneiderlin to make an impact for Louis Van Gaal‘s men as his header gave United the 1-0 win.

Up Next

United have three games left in America with their next one coming against San Jose Earthquakes on the 22nd.

They will then face Spanish giants FC Barcelona and French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
