Manchester United striker James Wilson is set to sign a contract extension at Old Trafford, including a significant pay rise.

Goal.com reports that Wilson’s new weekly earnings will be ÂŁ30,000, compared to his current ÂŁ1,500 a week.

The 19 year old has less than six months left on his current United deal.

With Radamel Falcao set to return to Monaco, and the possibility of Robin van Persie leaving too, Wilson will become more of a focal point of Louis van Gaal’s attack.

In a recent interview, teammate Juan Mata was full of praise for the England under 19 international.

“James has a great future ahead of him,” Mata told TalkSport.

“Everyone can see he has a great left foot, it’s incredible the way he can finish. His touch is good and he is quick as well; he has everything to succeed.”
