Roberto Martinez has stated that he has not given up on re-signing striker Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku, aged 20 scored 15 goals in 41 appearances whilst on loan from Chelsea last season, and is set to leave Chelsea this summer, leaving Everton facing a dilemma.

Despite impressing during loan spells at Everton and West Bromwich Albion, it is unclear where he will be playing his football next season.

And Martinez admitted that he will do all he can to try and bring the Belgium striker back to Goodison Park.

“Romelu had an incredible season. He is a young man who matured immensely.” Martinez said.

“We know the potential of Rom and Chelsea have been very good with the player and we have been really close with our relationship. We need to find out where we are and there is nothing more to comment.

“Every time we spoke about Rom’s situation it was very clear that he wanted to go to the World Cup and then make a decision. Obviously it is not going to take too long from now on.”
