Reports have claimed the right-back could leave Old Trafford in January

Matteo Darmian has claimed he is not thinking about a move away from Man United in January yet as it is ‘too early.’

The right-back has been a key feature for the Red Devils in the last few games due to injuries to a lot of United’s defence. However, up until an injury to Antonio Valencia, he struggled for first-team action at Old Trafford.

Since Mourinho took charge at the club, he has found gametime hard to come by. He’s been pushed down the pecking order by Valencia and Fosu-Mensah and it’s only because of these injuries that he has begun to start.

Valencia out through injury

When Valencia returns, he might once again find himself on the bench and with several sides trying to sign him over summer – while also offering more first-team football – reports have claimed that he could be on his way out in January.

Some rumours have even claimed that Jose Mourinho wants to sell him on but the player himself has insisted he isn’t thinking about a move away in January.

He told Sky Italia: “I keep going on my way, working to improve and give the coach a selection headache. I’m not thinking about the transfer window, it’s still too early.”
