Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards is less than secure about watching Claudio Bravo replace Ederson in goal on Sunday.

Ederson walked off during the half time break in Manchester City’s Champions League clash versus Atalanta and was replaced by Claudio Bravo for the second half. The back up goalie failed to last 45 minutes as he was sent off in the 80th minute.

Now Richards has expressed his concern if Bravo can replace Ederson in the big weekend match versus Liverpool.

“Having one eye on the weekend at Anfield, it’s a tough blow,” Richards told BT Sport after the match.

“It’s a tough blow for any team losing their number one goalkeeper but Ederson is pivotal to the way City play.

“Bravo’s confidence after getting sent off, I wonder where his head will be for the weekend. I worry because Ederson is a massive, massive part of how they play.

“I’m sure the people at Anfield will be very happy.”

He added: “He’s (Bravo) been brought in to do a job, he hasn’t been playing as good as he would like, you’d like to think he’d be professional enough to see out the game but to get a red card after only being on a few minutes, it can kill your confidence.”
