Aaron Ramsdale lost his No.1 spot to David Raya this season.

The England international has played second fiddle to David Raya throughout this season and there is an increasing uncertainty over the player’s future.

David Raya arrived on loan from Brentford this summer and has made a few high-profile errors since his arrival at the Emirates.

Rasmdale has only featured in Carabao Cup matches and once in the Premier League against Raya’s parent club Brentford.

England manager Gareth Southgate informed there would be no guarantees for Ramsdale going forward unless he improves his situation at Arsenal.

Ramsdale has been linked with Newcastle United who are interested in his services following Nick Pope’s lengthy injury situation.

But manager Mikel Arteta wants Ramsdale to continue at the Emirates.

He said: ‘I want Aaron with us. I am very happy to have two very, very good goalkeepers and Aaron is staying with us.

‘He’s willing to play. Like any player, he wants to play for Arsenal. That’s what he wants to do.

But the manager won’t rule out a move for the England international.

‘I cannot tell you that any Arsenal player is not going to leave in January. Or he is to stay here for the next three years.

‘I cannot guarantee that nobody is going to be leaving in January. For Newcastle or any other club.’
