Real Madrid centre forward Alvaro Morata has stated that he wishes to stay with the Spanish giants, despie reported interest from several Premier League clubs including table toppers Arsenal.

Various reports in Spain have suggested that the Spanish youngster would join the Gunners on a six month loan deal, with a veiw to a permanent contract in the summer months, with manager Arsene Wenger keen to bolster his attacking threat.

Morata stated in a recent interview with Spanish daily national newspaper AS…..

I feel the boss trusts me, so do the coaching staff. I am happy at Real Madrid and I want to be here for a long time.”

“The manager has played me in a lot of difficult matches and I am very happy. I have to repay his trust in me.”

Real coach Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly told a Spanish radio station that he needs a player like Morata at the club and that the subject of a transfer is closed.

Spain Under-21 international Morata is highly rated in his homeland and has scored two goals in 12 appearances this season, albeit 11 of them as substitute for Los Blancos, who sit third in La Liga, behind Barcelona and city rivals Atletico Madrid.

Morata has seen an impressive break through season for Madrid and wants to stay and fight for his place, rather than be shipped out on loan in January.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti stated in an interview….

I say, some clubs are interested but the subject is closed,” he told Spanish radio station Esradio.

“Morata remains with us because we need a footballer like him at Real Madrid this season.

“Although he has not played many matches this season I have confidence in his work for the team.”

Real Madrid face hird tier side Olimpic de Xativa in the Copa del Rey on Saturday.
