New Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has stated that rival-boss Jose Mourinho is jealous of his new role at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman took over at United after being announced by the club and he is set to take over from David Moyes once the Summer’s World Cup finishes, where he will manage Netherlands for the last time.
It had been widely speculated that he will be the man to take over from Moyes after he was sacked just 10-months into his six-year contract, and after it was announced yesterday, he has already moved to make a friendly rivalry with Mourinho after stating the Chelsea boss is jealous.
Van Gaal said: ‘Mourinho congratulated me. He was the first one I texted and he was the first one to text me back. He said he was jealous of my list of clubs.
‘I didn’t call Manchester United, I didn’t call Bayern Munich, they’ve always called me. And I’m proud of that.’
