Mourinho wants Ibrahimovic in the Prem

Jose Mourinho hopes Zlatan Ibrahimovic does not live to regret his decision not to play in the Premier League. The Swedish forward has enjoyed success wherever he has been with league titles from four different countries.

He has played at Ajax, Inter Milan, Juventus, Barcelona, AC Milan and PSG but he may never try his luck in England. Speculation regularly links him with moves to the Prem, while Arsenal once passed up the chance to sign him when he was younger. But Jose Mourinho – who is looking for a new goalscorer – has conceded the striker is settled in France.

He said: “I think he has to be where he is happy, and if he’s happy in Paris – and I know he is – then he has to stay. But at the same time, I think it’s a pity for him when he finishes his career and he played in the most important countries in the world of football, and won the most important championships in the world of football, but he didn’t play in the best league in the world and never won the best league in the world. That’s a pity.

“Saying that, his career is so rich and so full of success that I think he can be considered one of the greatest players, even if he never played in the Premier League.”
