Pepe Reina’s agent has dismissed reports that Spanish goalkeeper is to leave Liverpool.

The Liverpool goalkeeper has been their number one since he joined the club back in 2005 after signing from Villarreal. Over the last few seasons he has been seen as one of the best keepers in the premiershi, however, he has made a slow start to the new season putting in poor performances for Liverpool which has sparked speculation that Brendan Rodgers could be looking at selling the Spaniard.

There has been a lot of rumours that Brendan Rodgers has been looking at other goalkeepers as potential replacements for Reina with Michel Vorm being one of the main targets.

However, Reina’s representative has played down the transfer talk and stressed that the 30-year-old will soon get back to his best.

“He is not having an easy time. The team has not started the season well and liability is falling on him,” said Manuel Garcia Quilon.

“But this will end when he returns to form. He has four years to run on his contract and rumours of leaving Liverpool are just that – rumours.”
