FC Porto have completed the signing of Pepe on a free transfer.

The former Real Madrid defender has signed a contract valid until June 30, 2021, with the Portuguese giants.

Primeira Liga giants FC Porto have completed the signing of Pepe on a free transfer. The former Real Madrid star, who is also a former Porto player, has agreed to terms with the club until June 30, 2021. The player has been out of contract since leaving his last club Besiktas in Turkey due to financial turmoil, having served the Turkish Super Lig club for one and a half years after leaving Real Madrid.

The Portugal international served Porto in the time frame between 2004 and 2007 and had made a name for himself as one of the best defenders in the world. It was this time when he was picked up by the Spanish giants Real Madrid, where he spent a decade playing for Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Though he has not been in his prime in the last few seasons, the 35-year-old defensive ace has represented the Portuguese national team on a regular basis and has been a part of their historic UEFA Euro Cup campaign which they won in 2016 by defeating hosts France. Pepe was named the Man of the Match for his heroics in the final.
