Manchester United’s interim boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in line to break a 73-year-old club record if the team wins against Tottenham Hotspur in a Sunday showdown at Wembley but the Norwegian could not care less.

He said, “I don’t care. Not now. I might sit down in 20 years’ time and look at whatever records I have. When I’m in a position, I never look back on what I’m doing that way. Never, ever.”

Matt Busby is the only manager in United’s history to win 5 games consecutively since taking over in the 1946/47 season.

Solskjaer succeeded Jose Mourinho into the head coaching post at Old Trafford but only has a contract till the end of the 2018/9 season. He has already seen the Red Devils through 5 clear wins, 4 in the Premier League and 1 against Reading on Saturday.

Upon his introduction, United have looked like a rejuvenated side and a lot more exciting to watch. Solskjaer’s attacking mentality has allowed players like Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial to thrive, all of whom were struggling in Mourinho’s system earlier.

Granted the team has not faced a formidable opposition yet and their real test lies in wait at Wembley on the weekend but Solskjaer’s influence has been thoroughly felt by the fans and the players alike.
