Arsenal Football Club have sent their wishes to former assistant-manager Pat Rice after it was revealed that he has been sent to hospital due to cancer.

The 64-year-old, who retired from the game last Summer, spent nearly 50-years at Arsenal as a player and then a coach and the news have deeply saddened the camp as they prepare for Cardiff City on Saturday.

After his retirement, Rice was given an MBE for his services to sport.

Amongst all the support already give to the Rice family, Aaron Ramsey tweeted the following: ‘Best wishes to Pat Rice, he has the support of everyone connected to Arsenal and beyond #legend #GetWellSoonPat’.

Whilst an Arsenal spokesperson said the following: ‘Our thoughts are with Pat and his family. Everyone at Arsenal sends him our best wishes.’

Here at sillyseason, we want to send our thoughts to Pat Rice and his family!
