Patrick Bamford extends Middlesbrough stay

Patrick Bamford has extended his stay at Middlesbrough until the end of the season, the Championship club have confirmed. 

The 21-year-old forward has impressed at the Championship high-flyers, netting eight goals in 19 appearances for promotion chasing Boro, who sit fourth in the second tier. 

Bamford had previosly penned a loan deal in late August until January, however has extended his loan following several fine performances for the North East outfit. 

The Grantham born England Under 21 international signed for Chelsea in 2012 from Nottingham Forest, and has also spent time away from Stamford Bridge at the MK Dons and Derby County. 

Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka atated his delight at the deal, earlier on Wednesday. 

“He loves to be here, we love him here, the squad wants him here and the crowd loves him,” said the Spaniard.
